A day in the life of our Head of Acquisition

16 May 2021 in Company

Name: Fred Kisielewski

Job title: Head of Acquisition

Before work, I like to… play with my daughter. Working from home has been life-changing, specifically in terms of being able to spend more time with my new family. An extra hour in the morning to let my wife sleep in and get to know my 6-month-old is the dream.

My role at Healthily is all about… finding new users and driving growth. There’s a lot of noise out there in the health industry, so to achieve this, we need to find the right message, for the right people, on the right platforms, at the right time.

I wanted to work for Healthily because… health is something that affects us all, and I believe the company has an opportunity to make a genuine difference in people’s lives. Having always worked for business-to-business (B2B) brands, it’s refreshing to market a product to consumers that I can fully understand.

One thing I’ve learnt about self-care since working here is… that we can take control of our own health. Whether it’s understanding when to take a break in your working day, or recognising what levers affect your mindset, we have the power to help ourselves. I know that if I’m starting to feel overwhelmed at work, a 15-minute HIIT workout or a walk around the block will help force a circuit break and allow me to rest with a renewed perspective.

My favourite moment at Healthily so far is... finally making it into the office and getting to meet the force behind the company in person. Video conferencing has been amazing in allowing us to operate during this pandemic, but nothing can replace the background noise and culture of a company that you naturally absorb by osmosis.

The self-care practice I love to do is… exercise and sleep – things that naturally seem to slip away with parenthood. If I don’t do any exercise for a period of time, I definitely start to notice it. Whether it’s going for a run, playing football with friends, or doing a 15-minute workout in the garden, I know my head will always feel clearer, and that will result in a better night’s sleep.

My lockdown survival tip is… have a baby! Honestly, I haven’t had time to miss my friends lately and, if I can’t go to the pub, quite frankly no one should be able to.

After work, I like to… at the risk of sounding repetitive, hang out with my wife and daughter. There’s nothing much else to do at the moment. In a pre-coronavirus world, I used to enjoy getting the tube home. It would give me time to read up on interesting marketing and business books. It’s almost unfortunate that I don’t commute anymore, as I’m still buying the books – I just don’t have the time to read them now.

If I wasn’t Head of Acquisition, I’d be a… professional cricket player.
