Have you had COVID-19? If so, how do you think you caught it?
Your answer is important because it may help stop the spread of the virus.
Where were you at the time? Out in public? In your home? Did your children bring it into your house or did you get it from a work colleague or friend?
More than a million people in the UK have had COVID-19, but we still don't know much about how they caught it. With the vaccine still months away, we need to find out more about how the virus spreads. Doing so will help us develop sound public health policies based on evidence.
After the success of Healthily and Imperial College’s Covid-19 Symptom Mapper research we've teamed up with the university’s Self-Care Research Unit again to launch My Coronavirus: The People’s Survey.
We need as many people as possible in the UK to tell us how they think they caught the virus. Was it outside or inside? If indoors, was the room or building well aired? Were people wearing masks?
As more people complete the survey Imperial’s researchers will be able to build a picture of how the virus spreads. The more people take part, the more we can contribute to the global fight against the pandemic.
The survey asks Healthily users that have either tested positive or have had symptoms that are likely to be coronavirus to answer a series of questions about where, when and how they think they might have caught the virus.
It's a short 5-minute survey in which you can also share your experience in your own words.
And if you give Healthily or Imperial College your email address at the end of the survey, we'll send you updates about the findings.
Matteo Berlucchi, Chief Executive of Healthily said: “Our first piece of research at the start of the pandemic uncovered important differences in symptoms around the world. We feel certain this new survey will have an important impact on how governments make public health decisions on how to stop the spread. We will be living with this virus for the rest of our lives, so the more we understand, the quicker we can get back to normal.”
