Start the day right with this ‘apple pie’ porridge

Trying to eat healthily at breakfast every morning? Sticking with the same option can feel like an easy way to do it. But that can get a bit boring. For those times you want to mix it up, an easy and exciting recipe is great to have on standby.

This ‘apple pie’ porridge can be ready in 15 minutes:

Serves: 1
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 50g porridge oats
  • 200ml apple juice (with no added sugar)
  • 100ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 medium dessert apple, diced
  • (to serve) 1 pinch of cinnamon

Method
Put everything into a saucepan. Heat and stir until boiling, then lower the heat and simmer gently for 5 minutes, stirring often. Spoon the porridge into a serving bowl and add a sprinkling of cinnamon.
