A simple trick to make every meal you eat healthier
Tuesday, 15 December · 1 min read

It’s that time of year where we tend to eat a little more than we know we should. But don’t worry, we’re not about to tell you to deprive yourself. The key to enjoying all of the season’s festive treats without regretting it later is to load your plate with the good stuff.

Fill over a third of your plate with veg – the more colourful the better. And if you choose fibre-rich veg, like carrots, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and asparagus, you can help reduce your risk of overeating (as the fibre may keep you fuller for longer).

You can balance your plate even more by keeping meat down to less than a quarter or, ideally, replacing it with other sources of protein like beans or fish. Then fill the rest of the space on your plate with healthy carbs.
