3 ways to make drinking water more interesting
Wednesday, 26 May · 1 min read

Your body depends on water to survive and to keep it healthy – water is needed to keep your heartbeat stable, your digestion working, your body temperature regulated, and for many other important functions. But, are you doing your job and keeping your body hydrated every day?

It can be hard to remember to drink enough, and even if you do, plain old water isn’t always as tempting as a fruity fizzy drink or an ice-cold gin and tonic.

If you’re looking to up your H2O intake, try infusing your water naturally with these 3 recipes:

  • strawberry and thyme – 6 chopped strawberries, 4 sprigs of fresh thyme, 1 litre of cold water
  • watermelon and basil – 50g watermelon, cut into cubes and deseeded, 4 to 6 basil leaves, 1 litre of cold water
  • cucumber and lemon – one-quarter cucumber, sliced, half a lemon, sliced, 1 litre of cold water

Method:

  1. Add all the ingredients into a clean jar.

  2. Leave overnight, or for 8 hours to allow the water to infuse – the longer you leave it, the stronger it will taste.

  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Quick Quiz
It’s recommended that you drink 10 glasses of water a day.
