How to use Healthily Cold, Flu and COVID - 19 Checker safely

(December 2021)

Your health is important to us, so before you start we'd like to make sure you understand how our Cold, Flu and COVID-19 Checker (the “Checker”) can help you.

We are here to inform

The Checker gives you useful information and does not constitute professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendation or endorsement of any products.

The information provided regarding the likelihood of having a cold, flu or COVID-19 does not mean that you have any of these conditions or that you do not have any other worrying conditions.

Cold, flu and COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses can have similar symptoms. The difference between them cannot be made based on symptoms alone. COVID-19 can also have non-respiratory symptoms we are not able to consider. Testing and/or confirmation of a medical professional is needed to get the diagnosis.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) currently recommends that anyone with the following symptoms gets a COVID-19 test: Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting or diarrhea. Please visit CDC official page for latest information regarding COVID-19 https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html

You can use the Checker only if you had the symptoms for less than 2 weeks. If your symptoms started more than 2 weeks ago you should see a medical professional and not use the Checker.

We use information about your symptoms to advertise third party products. Please note that we are not recommending or endorsing any such products. The advertisements are not based on the most likely condition as we can’t diagnose and therefore do not constitute treatment.

Always consult a medical professional:

· to confirm the identified most/less likely condition
· before making medical decisions or omissions based on information provided by the Checker
· before taking any medications, drugs, vitamins, supplements or herbal alternatives
· if you are in doubt, your symptoms get worse or don’t improve

Remember, the Checker is only a chatbot and not a real medical professional, which means it can’t:

· consider all the information a medical professional can when interacting with you
· identify other condition that may be causing your symptoms
· always understand the information you give us

If your situation feels serious, always call the emergency services.

Healthily is not liable for any decisions, acts or omissions you make. The Checker can't be used to get information about babies, children aged 15 or younger, pregnant women, people on immunosuppressive treatment, and people with complex or long-term conditions.
