Can a man break his penis?

Yes. If a penis is violently twisted when hard (erect), it can break. There aren’t any bones in the penis, but the tubes that fill with blood during an erection can burst.

 

Can a sexually transmitted infection (STI) be passed on when someone with a vagina has sex with someone else with a vagina?

Yes. An STI can be passed through vaginal fluid (including fluid on shared sex toys), blood or close bodily contact.

 

Is penis size linked to foot size?

No. The idea that shoe size and penis size are linked is a myth, according to a study published in the British Journal of Urology International.

 

Can you use a condom more than once?

No. Condoms aren’t reusable. You should also change them after 30 minutes of sex because friction can weaken the condom and make it more likely to split.

 

Do condoms cut off penis circulation?

No. A condom can stretch to 18 inches around. There are many different shapes and sizes that you can try.

 

Will someone’s balls explode if they don’t ejaculate?

No. The body makes sperm all the time. If ejaculation doesn’t happen, the sperm gets absorbed into the body.

 

Do condoms break easily?

No. But you can avoid breaking a condom by putting it on carefully and making sure there's no air bubble at the end.

 

Can you be straight (heterosexual) and enjoy anal sex?

Yes. Like most sexual activity, anal sex is a matter of preference. Some people choose to include it in their sex life regardless of their sexual orientation.

 

Can you get HIV through oral sex?

Yes, but the risk is very low. HIV can be passed through fluids from a penis or vagina.

 

Are condoms the only thing that protect against both pregnancy and STIs?

Yes. Using condoms is the only way to protect yourself against both pregnancy and STIs if you have sex. All other types of contraception protect against pregnancy, but not STIs.

 

Can someone with a womb get pregnant if the penis is pulled out before ejaculation?

Yes. Before ejaculation, the penis can leak a fluid which contains sperm.

 

Can you still get pregnant if you use contraception?

Yes. Your chance of getting pregnant depends on the type of contraception you use and if you use it correctly.

 

Can you get HIV from kissing?

No. Evidence shows that the HIV virus is spread through the exchange of bodily fluids like blood, sperm and vaginal fluids, but not saliva.

 

Is it safer to use 2 condoms instead of 1?

No. Whether it's 2 male condoms or a male and female condom, using 2 condoms is not better than 1, as they’re more likely to break.

 

Can you use Vaseline® as lube?

No. A bit of extra lubrication is good but don't use anything with oil in it as it can dissolve a condom.

 

Are there female condoms?

Yes. Female condoms are worn inside the vagina to stop sperm getting to the womb.

 

Can someone get pregnant while on their period?

Yes. It’s possible to get pregnant on your period or just after.

 

Does male circumcision make a difference in sex?

No. There’s no evidence that sex is better with a circumcised penis.
